What is the Agent Skill?

The OpenSea Agent Skill is an Agent Skill that gives AI coding assistants direct access to the OpenSea API. Once installed, your AI agent can query NFT collections, retrieve metadata, get marketplace listings and offers, execute Seaport trades, and swap ERC20 tokens — all through natural language prompts.

Getting Started

To use the Agent Skill, you need an OpenSea API key. The same key works for the REST API, CLI, and MCP.

Sign in to opensea.io

Go to Settings → Developer

If you don't have a developer account, click Get access and fill out the request form

Once approved, your API key will appear on this page

Set it as an environment variable: export OPENSEA_API_KEY="your-api-key"

Chain Support

The Agent Skill supports all chains available on OpenSea, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and more.

When using CLI commands, specify the chain with the --chain flag.
